Crosstimbers Connection Connecting People with Nature in North Texas

Crosstimbers Connection is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization working to connect people with nature in the woodlands and prairies of north Texas. We do this in the following ways:

1. We do presentations with lots of slides about the reptiles, amphibians, fish, and other wildlife of our area

2. We take small groups on walks through the woods, prairies, and wetlands of north Texas to take photos and see nature firsthand

3. We publish a newsletter, Frog Calls, and the quarterly Post Oak & Prairie Journal with information about the natural history of our area

We do these things for free, because we want people to experience nature in ways that create enjoyment, understanding, and caring for the natural world.

For presentations and events, we partner with nature centers and other groups. We have worked with the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge, Bob Jones Nature Center, Friends of Tandy Hills Natural Area, Dogwood Canyon Audubon Center, and other organizations.

Crosstimbers Connection is also a proud member of the Teaming With Wildlife “True To Texas” coalition, a group of “businesses and organizations that recognize the value of healthy wildlife populations and realize that our natural heritage is in jeopardy” (see the True To Texas website).

Please take a few minutes and explore our website. You can find information about the cross timbers, the prairies, and the wildlife that lives there. You can also see our publications and download them for free. And when you are done, please visit and “like” our Facebook page.
